Valleywag Party Girl Megan McCarthy introduces us to a new friend.
Normally, we here at Valleywag post write-ups of events within 24 hours of attending them, because the Internet is far to ADD to remember what happened the day before yesterday. Today, an exception. Last Thursday, OutCast PR held a boozy private party at Roe for the firm's clients, friends, and journalists, in a blatant attempt to raise the collective BAC of the tech industry.
More after the jump.
It was fabulous, and memories are a bit hazy, but one shining, swaggering moment stands out. In between the complimentary Hendricks & tonics and flack-forced Jaeger shots, I meet one proud exec who, upon introduction, picked his head out of his martini glass long enough to deliver the most overconfident line I've head this side of Sand Hill Road:
"Someday you'll brag about meeting me."
He then gave me his card and went back to his drink.
Honestly, that statement's not a problem. (Who hasn't drunkenly slurred that they were king of the world?) But, I'll tell you one thing - it would have been far more believable if he used something other than cheap Avery card stock and a laserjet to print his business cards.
So, Jonathan Hare, let me state, for the record, that I met you at a PR party. Everyone else, meet Jonathan. You'll be bragging about this someday.
