We learned today that Sergey Brin's first word was golova, which means head in Russian. His colleague, Megan Smith, the former founder of PlanetOut who now runs Google's business development group, has a 20-month-old child called Alex. Her partner, Kara Swisher, organizer of the D Conference, writes: At only 20 months, Alex is limited to only a few words and phrases. They include: "I go" for when he wants to leave the room; "Goo-gol," which for a long time I thought was Google (Megan works there and I was worried she might be teaching him branding a wee bit too early), but which turns out to be the word for "juice" in Spanish.
