In Season Three of HBO's The Wire, there's one great mystery: where are all the bodies? The Baltimore police know that, where there's a struggle among drug-dealers for turf, there are always casualties. But, in this season, the enemies of Marlo, the young druglord, are simply vanishing, executed, covered in lime, and hidden in boarded-up rowhouses. There must be something wrong with me: the disappearing victims make me think of web startups, out of cash and luck, put out of their misery, brutally, but so discreetly.
