1989 predictions that won't come true in 2008, either

FutureStuff.jpgFimoculous blogger Rex Sorgatz dug up a 2007 audit on the 1989 book, Future Stuff. The book describes 250-some consumer products that "should be in your supermarket, hardware store, pharmacy, department store, or otherwise available by the year 2000." It gets a few things right, like Viagra and flat-screen TVs. But mostly it's wrong.

My favorite prediction isn't "The Intelligent Toilet" or "The More Intelligent Toilet," but "The Most Intelligent Toilet." That's the one that "takes your temperature and your blood pressure, analyzes your urine and stool, and weighs you when ever you use it." Only thing missing are 2 girls.
