    Ozguc.jpgYahoo admitted it bought online-video distributor Maven Networks today. It turns out Maven founder and CEO Hilmi Ozguc made out better than we thought. Yahoo said it bought Ozguc's company for $160 million, not the $150 million originally reported. All that on just $30 million in funding. Which is good, Hilmi, but if you'd held out for just another $5.5 billion, maybe you could buy a basketball team, learn to dance and complain when reporters don't do what you tell them to do, too.

    After firing, Second Life maker insists they're hiring

    A boilerplate statement from Linden Lab confirms yesterday's rumor: "We've had to make some hard decisions about resources and as a result we eliminated four positions out of our headcount of nearly 300." That's not as bad as the "9 or 10" we'd been told were cut.
