Why do I have to pay 15/20 bucks to go to SF Beta or SF New Tech to listen to a bunch of startups pimp their wares, all the while paying top dollar for over-priced domestic beers?

What the hell is going on? Is this not bubble 2.0? Who do I have to pretend to listen to for a free beer in this city?
