"i've had it for ages, first as grand central, then an early google voice activation - it is a really nice interface BUT people seem to forget something really important: if you configure to route to your mobile, then you lose all advantages of mobile to mobile 'free minutes' in calling plans...otherwise, it's quite nice but i have yet to really use the number much or print it on anything (i even got a nice boston 617 line ages ago!)"
"you know, i just had to comment because i am actually dog sitting two pomeranians this very day, as i type - one is fully grown at about 5 or 6 pounds, the other is a pup shy of 2 pounds...not sure that either has the strength to get into a bag and get down a fortune cookie, but perhaps i'm wrong..."
"awesome list - the only BIG ones that jump to mind that should be on here:
Productivity:
Bean word processor: [www.bean-osx.com]
(open word docs in about 1 second, it's amazing and free)
Skim PDF: [skim-app.sourceforge.net]
(annotate pdf files like adobe style, but fo' free)
...there are soooo many others in media and graphics that i can't even list them all here...."
"i've had google voice for months, and grandcentral before that - it's great, but i will NEVER port my number until google is bulletproof (think gmail outages, now imagine a carrier simulation!)
also, peeps forget that you lose your mobile2mobile unlimited and many other plan advantages if you were to port.
for me, the big advantage is a unique number that i give out to ONLY certain folks and in turn configure to auto-ring me at all lines - kind of like a super emergency line - and allows for amazing spam control should the number fall into the wrong hands (can you say, "new once" keeps calling?"
"this app is AWESOME - i added a text note in safari on my macbook pro and had the pre app open at the same time, hit refresh and within seconds it was there...
awesome tool when combined with the bookmarklet to grab crap - i can stuff all sorts of notes and items into the app via browser - beats the ToDo list on the pre by a mile because i can crank out todos via email to evernote, on the mac app, in the browser AND on the pre...
perfect version 1.0, would love to see enhancements for image handling - or, ideally, the ability to make "evernote images" an account within palm pre prefs for photo (and docs??)"
"FAIL _ i did a quick test on the query "google products" and it turned up 7 total...did another for microkernel operating systems and it failed again, then tried unix OS and it threw in some assorted crap...
interesting start, but falls so far from expectations that i'm worried people will misunderstand the results and they'll begin to push sponsored opportunities in product comparisons (a whole new SEO game)...
yeah, continuing thoughts at [www.twitter.com]"
