"One other thing I'd point out: Credit-card transaction fees, also known as "interchange fees," are normally charged to merchants, not consumers. What happened here, on closer reading, is that a supremely misinformed individual let an overseas organization -- Yele Haiti, whose finances Gawker has already called into question -- charge her credit card.
