The search engine, created by John Boyle and Ian Smith, doesn't return the most relevant results — no, that would take away all the fun and exploration out of using the web. Their engine simply returns results from across the web, relevant or not. "They may not be the results you were looking for...but they're results nonetheless."

Search for "george bush" and you'll get a few relevant hits like "Bush Says Invading Iran 'Not the Plan'" and the New York Times Topics page, but you also get links related to Curious George, George Orwell (at this time, the page would not load), St. George, and "George", an iPod docking system and the number one result.

The humor isn't limited to the results, and the jokes reveal a biting critique of the search industry. The site cycles through several taglines lampooning other corporate mottos ("Twice the searching required as the other guys," "We are here to help you as little as we can," "Not interested in your 'Preferences'," and "We can't all be Google.") The main page features a link to "iCrap" which reveals the message: "Still in limited beta. Continue massive fiber intake and you may get an invite!" and they clearly have intentions of expanding their application empire with messages like ""Coming Soon: CrappyIM" and "Coming Soon: CrappyToolbar." I won't spoil all of the jokes for you, so visit the site for yourself and "explore", and be sure to check out the hilarious About page to hear the pitch for ACrappySearchEngine.com straight from its creators.
