The open-source browser Firefox version 2 was officially released today. As my hometurf blog, Supr.c.ilio.us noted yesterday, there are yet to be any Firefox release parties in San Francisco of note.

But today, I did spy two parties on the map:
Get Hyphy With Firefox "Notes: come get crunk 2 celebrate the internet and shit" (Meh.
DL.TV Episode 106. Venue: Internet Broadcast (We can drink near-beer, have virtual fun.)

Maybe the Chicago Google engineers were right, the city of my birth, SF sucks. But then why get all hyped up about a piece of open-source software?
