For proof, look no further than Jason Goldberg. He played the heteronormative role while running Jobster; it took a relocation to Germany to really loosen him up.

Oh, sure, Goldberg married Thomas Goldberg while working in Seattle, but the couple were soon looking to skip town, mulling destinations like New York or London. In the meantime, Goldberg kept a buttoned-down look, as illustrated in the first two pictures below.

Then came Goldberg's ejection from Jobster, his creation of the networking site Social Median (later sold), and his eventual relocation to Hamburg — where Goldberg apparently went very, very gay, as seen in the pictures below.

Tech tyrant or not, we don't begrudge Goldberg his sexy partytime. We're just sad he had to fly east to enjoy it. With the rise of the tech startup scene in India and China, it seemed like proud, defiant hedonism was one of the few sectors San Francisco could corner. So much for that theory.

UPDATE: A tipster writes that at least some of these pictures are connected to a gay charter cruise:

.

..for the record, most of those photos — definitely 4, 5, and 6 — were taken on a cruise ship, the Celebrity Solstice. Probably the Atlantis Events gay charter sailing from Rome this late July - early August. I was on that ship, along with 1,500+ other gay guys, Bruce Vilanch, Patty LuPone . . .

If you know more, we'd love to hear from you.

<![CDATA[The 10 most terrible tyrants of tech]]> Here's to the screaming ones. The chair-throwers. The death-threat makers. The imperious gazers. The ones who see things differently — and will stare you down until you do, too. They're not fond of rules, especially those outlined by the human-resources department on "treating your employees with respect." And they have no respect for conversational decibel levels. You can cower before them, hide from them, quote them behind their backs, or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they're so damn loud. They've worked at Google. Apple. Microsoft. AOL. They've ruled the industry — or they've failed, loudly. Below, we present you tech's 10 most tempestuous bosses — the ones who scream different. While some see them as sociopaths, Valleywag sees genius.

Apple CEO Steve Jobs: It's worse when he's not yelling
RealNetworks CEO Rob Glaser: Screams to make the pain stop
Salesforce.com CEO Marc Benioff: Flowers ... and handcuffs
VMware cofounder Diane Greene: Her only mistake was working for another tyrant
Ex-Jobster CEO Jason Goldberg: Hot head, hot lead
Microsoft chairman Bill Gates: Doesn't even love his mother
Ex-AOL sales chief David Colburn: Prepared to get biblical on your ass
TechCrunch editor Michael Arrington: Doesn't discriminate — he holds everyone in contempt
Google SVP Jonathan Rosenberg: He'll yell at Larry and Sergey, too
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer: Would like to "kill" Google and its "pussy" CEO

<![CDATA[Ex-Jobster CEO Jason Goldberg]]>
Jason Goldberg: Hot head, hot lead

Jason Goldberg, the fired CEO of Jobster, now runs social news site Social Median. He still has a problem with his verbal filter. He thinks things, it seems, and even if he shouldn't, he'll say them. For example, there's the YouTube video embedded above. Goldberg impolitely rips Jobster's rival, Monster.com, calling it a "crap product." Takes a lot of testosterone to say that about the market leader — especially when no one's heard of Jobster. But that's not the worst of it. No, that'd probably be the time Goldberg told an employee he was going to put a bullet in her head because she allegedly leaked news of an executive poaching.

Next: Microsoft chairman Bill Gates: Doesn't even love his mother

<![CDATA[Jobster CEO out, leaving fundraising to the new guy]]> Jeff SeelyWe'd heard rumors Jobster was close to replacing Jason Goldberg as its CEO, and the Seattle P-I now confirms them. Jeff Seely, another Seattle entrepreneur who just sold online stock-buying site ShareBuilder for $220 million to ING Direct, will take over the online job board on January 7. His first order of business: Raising more money, I suspect.

In June, a commenter claimed the company only had $7 million left of its $48 million in funding from Mayfield, Ignition, and other VCs. Goldberg conceded to the P-I that the company was still not profitable, but a company spokesman wouldn't confirm the commenter's figures.

Whatever the number was in June, this much is certain: Six months later, Jobster has even less money now. Almost as certain: John Connors, the former Microsoft CFO on Jobster's board, has too much of his reputation at stake to allow Jobster to fail.

<![CDATA["Help wanted" sign at Jobster headquarters]]> Are you an unemployed tech CEO? Jobster may be able to help you find a gig. Despite strenuous denials from Jobster CEO Jason Goldberg, rumors continue to swirl that the obstreperous entrepreneur is on his way out of the troubled online job-search startup. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that Goldberg himself is leading a search for his successor. A tipster tells us that he and husband Thomas Goldberg, who recently quit Seattle advertising firm Wong Doody, are considering a move to New York or London, where Thomas plans to pursue interior-design studies. For the record, we're bummed over the departure. Not of Jason, that is, but of Thomas. Because we love nothing more than typing the words "Wong Doody." Repeatedly. They just don't make company names like that anymore.

<![CDATA[Jobster CEO Jason Goldberg on his way out ... of Seattle?]]> Jason GoldbergWord around Seattle is that Jobster CEO Jason Goldberg is headed out of the troubled job-search website — for parts east. Sources say that Goldberg's husband, Thomas, has been telling friends of their upcoming move to New York City and, on his last day at Seattle advertising firm Wong Doody, sent out a company-wide goodbye email indicating that he was leaving for geographical reasons, not personal or professional ones. Goldberg glosses over the rumor, telling us "My husband Thomas is applying to graduate-school programs in a number of cities. We currently have no plans to move. And no, I am not leaving Jobster." Though he might be mistaken on that last part. We've heard that the VC community in Seattle is abuzz about the Jobster board's stealth search to replace him. Why is the CEO always the last to know?

<![CDATA[What's Jason Goldberg hiding?]]>
No sooner had we gotten a tip about the YouTube video of Jobster's brainstorming session than the video was taken down. Luckily, informants reported on the contents — and I can totally understand why Jason Goldberg, CEO of the troubled recruiting website, thought better of leaving up what he now tells Valleywag is "an early unedited version."

The video showed a meeting at Jobster where Goldberg and some of his employees are trying to come up with ways to promote the careers site's new Facebook application. It rapidly digresses into Goldberg demanding that his underlings perform the famous orgasm scene from the movie "When Harry Met Sally": "Oh, oh, oh ... Jobster!" But we think the deadliest bit came near the end where the quick-tempered Goldberg appears to change his mind on the whole project and declares, "Facebook is so yesterday." We call that projecting, Jason.
