You know, the one where we objectified some of Silicon Valley's brightest public relations stars. You people are sick. Can't you tell that we at Valleywag have moved beyond such exploitation? This space is for honoring the hard work of PR professionals, like Heather Meeker of Yahoo, pictured here not wearing a shirt.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky semifinals: Brooke and Terra win]]> Valleywag readers finally narrow down the choice for snackiest flacky to two finalists. And they choose wisely. (How could they not, with every choice being a perfect 10?)

Yahoo mommy-blogger Terra Carmichael whumps TagWorld "Don't call her booth babe" Paula Gould with both twins tied behind her back.

The knowing pout of Brooke Hammerling beats the Lohan-esque grin of Margaux Vega.

Full poll results behind the jump. Next, the winners will battle for the crown in the Snacky or Flacky final round.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky semifinals: Brooke Hammerling vs. Margaux Vega]]> It's gonna be tough. But you can pick. Who is more deserving of battling another PR peep for the title of the Snackiest Flack? Brooke Hammerling comes from her own firm, Brew PR; Margaux Vega is a rising star at major firm Weber Shandwick. Will the co-worker votes win it, or will a pure snackiness meritocracy decide this round?

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky semifinals: Paula Gould vs. Terra Carmichael]]> First off, another note to the guys e-mailing Snacky or Flacky contestants to ask them out: You are so lame. That is what startup demo parties are for.

Right, four snacky flacks are left (full elimination brackets after the jump) in Valleywag's PR hotties tourney. Now TagWorld publicist Paula Gould and Yahoo publicist Terra Carmichael face off to determine who will advance to the final round.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky stage 2: Margaux and Brooke win]]> Two gentleman learn the meaning of "glass ceiling" in what's less a victory for open source and more a sad confirmation that this blog won't get me thousands of fawning female fans. Weber Shandwick's Margaux Vega beats co-worker Jeremy Pepper, and Brew Media's Brooke Hammerling takes a landslide — no, a massive tectonic event — win over Ogilvy's Justin O'Neill.

Brooke hammers Justin, 366 votes to 56, and still has enough hotness for another round.

To the 54 people who voted for Jeremy: Good on ya. To the 373 who voted for Margaux: Isn't she the cutest?

Next up: Stage 3 cuts two more flacks off the Snacky or Flacky gravy train. Full poll results after the jump.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky Stage 2: Jeremy Pepper vs. Margaux Vega]]> Jeremy Pepper is dead in the water. The PR blogger knows he has no chance in the latest Snacky or Flacky round against his Weber Shandwick co-worker Margaux Vega — hell, even he's voting for her. But can we at least make Jeremy's exit smooth and painless? After else, who else would be brave enough to face a face-off with the stellar Margaux?

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky Stage 2: Justin O'Neill vs. Brooke Hammerling]]> Could one man have the chance of winning over a woman in a Valleywag Hotties face-off? If anyone, it'd be Ogilvy employee Justin O'Neill, who recently trounced Google uber-hottie Nathan Tyler. But Justin's up against Brooke Hammerling, a publicist for Larry Ellison's non-Oracle properties, recently spotted hanging with local journalists and bigshots at a NetSuite party on Larry's yacht. Well, kids, you decide: who gets to stay in Snacky or Flacky for one more round?

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky Stage 2: Paula and Terra win — for now]]> Two more PR hotties drop out of Snacky or Flacky in weekend voting. Next up, two more face-offs determine tomorrow's herd-thinning.

Steve Langdon, the Google flack on Yahoo Personals, is no match for TagWorld publicist Paula Gould. She comes home with 83% of the vote.

Terra Carmichael soaks in that Yahoo-voting love, beating Simply Hired publicist Kay Luo with over two-thirds the total vote. Hey, in this tourney, some very pretty people must suffer.

After the jump, full, in-gory-detail poll results.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky stage 2: Terra Carmichael vs. Kay Luo]]> Stage 2 of Snacky or Flacky, Valleywag's PR hotties tourney, continues as Yahoo publicist Terra Carmichael faces off with Simply Hired publicist Kay Luo.

Terra is a mommy-blogger whose twins have taken over her Yahoo 360 account.

Kay got into a TechCrunch party because her dog knows Michael Arrington's dog. Kay printed out her pup Cisco's Dogster friend list, which included Mike's dog Laguna. "Guest list?" said Kay, "I don't need to be on the guest list!" (Note: Kay does many things not related to dogs. But the dog stuff is the cutest.)

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky stage 2: Paula Gould vs. Steve Langdon]]> Welcome to Stage 2 of Snacky or Flacky, Valleywag's PR hotties tourney.

Paula Gould is the publicist for a site called TagWorld that isn't about tags. Steve Langdon is a Googler who finds his honeys through Yahoo Personals. They're both paradoxes, they're both cute, but one will move to the semifinals while the other takes the bus back home.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky prelims: The increasingly innacurate results]]>

The Snacky or Flacky prelims are over, half the PR hotties are voted out (but will have lucrative record contracts anyway). Congrats to the winners! Let's see which get bumped off next. Left to right: Justin O'Neill, Brooke Hammerling, Jeremy Pepper, and Margaux Vega.

And yes, some polls have clearly been gamed. Yes, people had trouble voting in others. Yes, Miles could have beaten Jeremy given a slice of timing, but I close the poll when I close the poll. Yes, some day the poll system will be fixed and the world will be a happy place with bunnies and fairness. But there's no second-guessing in PR, kids, so suck it up and deal. Next up, the eight remaining snacky flacks fight it out. After the jump, fillable updated brackets.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky prelims, round 8: Margaux Vega vs. Dianna Mangiatini]]> These two lovely young ladies hail from PR firm Weber Shandwick, which snatched them up before they even turned 25 (the "over the hill" age adjusted for the PR industry). Now they're the two final entrants for Snacky or Flacky. You've got all night to vote.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky prelims, round 7: Jeremy Pepper vs. Miles Perkins]]> Finally, some testosterone! Or, well, some guys at least. Of these two male "Snacky or Flacky" contestants, one knows how to make beautiful noise — the other, well, at least he makes noise. Ladies and gentleman, publicist Miles Perkins of Industrial Light and Magic, and blogger Jeremy Pepper of Weber Shandwick (founder of Pop! PR)

  • Granted, some of them are actively campaigning for votes. But hey, being up against Nathan Tyler drives men to desperate measures.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky prelims, round 6: Lauren Strain vs. Brooke Hammerling]]> Lauren Strain moved from PR at Yahoo to marketing — she's now a spokesperson emeritus. Brooke Hammerling, though, is still rockin' the publicity wagon — she founded her own firm, Brew Media Relations. A recent project: organizing a party on Larry Ellison's yacht for her client NetSuite.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky prelims, round 5: Nathan Tyler vs. Justin O'Neill]]> Ogilvy PR man Justin O'Neill faces a tough challenge in this morning's round of Snacky or Flacky, the Valleywag PR hotties tourney. Justin may have a sweet Facebook profile that shows his charming personality — but Google PR consultant Nathan Tyler's got a posse. The last time Nathan was on Valleywag, commenters wrote, "Nathan Tyler's hotness is so unstoppable, he's personally responsible for that whole "Greenland is melting" global warming thing." But you wouldn't let looks decide everything, would you?

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky: Terra Carmichael and Kay Luo officially snacky]]> Another fun round of Valleywag's PR hotties tournament, Snacky or Flacky, wraps up:

The lovely Terra Carmichael beat the also lovely Dina Freeman, 218 to 105, in the Yahoo PR People Prelim Round. That means Terra will represent Yahoo (though not really represent, not the way Yahoo's legal team means it) in the next stage of Snacky or Flacky.

Simply Hired publicist Kay Luo won against the PR goddess behind Craigslist, Susan Best, in a photo finish: 128 votes to 126. So long, Susan, and congrats, Kay.

Full results after the jump. Next, hot PR hunks vie for your love.

<![CDATA[Snacky or Flacky prelims, round 4: Susan Best vs. Kay Luo]]> Susan MacTavish Best pimped her client (and partner in crime), Craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster, in the original Valleywag Hotties tourney. She must have known she couldn't escape a similar fate this time around, so here she is, in a face-off against Kay Luo. Kay is the Simply Hired marketing director who thought up a promo with Dogster: the Simply Hired dog-friendly workplace search. Who's it gonna be, the lady behind the friendly purple forum or the puppy-loving PR princess?
