Apple plans to end its long-standing feud with the owners of the Beatles music library in a commercial at February 4th's Superbowl, according to a Canadian newspaper. The Cupertino company, which has overturned the music industry with its iPod player, was locked in a dispute over the use of the name Apple, which was also the name of the Beatles' record label.
The Toronto Sun — not sure why a Canadian tabloid should be in a position to break the story — said Apple may offer remastered Beatles songs for the first time on iTunes. Were it not for the multi-colored iPods now on sale, Apple could start by marketing the Beatles' White Album.
