Ah, well, this goes some way to explain the clout that Marc Benioff has in Hawaii, where he was able to have the police called out on a nosy reporter for the Wall Street Journal. The Salesforce.com boss, and his wife, Lynne Krilich, made campaign contributions to Daniel Akaka, three-term Senator for Hawaii.
Benioff's a promiscuous political donor, but it's interesting that the web mogul's interest has shifted from George Bush, to whom he donated ahead of the last presidential elections, to lawmakers in Hawaii, where he's been building a giant oceanfront complex.
