Red Herring's hangover

You may not have this marked in your calendar: Red Herring, the troubled tech publishing group run by the accident-prone Alex Vieux, is holding its flagship tech conference this week in lovely Cannes, on the French Riviera. No worries: the organizers don't pay much attention to the schedule, either. Paul Jozefak, an investor attending Venture Market Europe — tagline: the pursuit of disruption — turned up to the main conference room this morning. At 9am, half an hour after the keynote presentation of the day was due to begin, the room was still deserted.
