Fred Wilson notes that the entrepreneurs backed by his venture capital firm, New York's Union Square Ventures, are almost all in their thirties. Anecdotally, partners at the leading venture capital shops seem to reach their peak in their forties. Now, is that because, in picking companies, wisdom trumps enthusiasm; or just because the life of an investor demands less energy?
