The trail of Fake Steve Jobs

A few new clues for those amateur detectives on the trail of Fake Steve Jobs, the anonymous writer behind the spoof diary of Apple's self-obsessed founder: we've heard, in a roundabout way, from someone claiming to be a former colleague, that the blog's author is in neither New York nor Silicon Valley, which would rule out several suspects. And Business Week reports that Da Capo will publish a book based on the diaries, provisionally entitled Options, in October. The agent representing the Jobs impersonator, Emma Parry, has sold books to Da Capo before, so one shouldn't read too much in to the deal. But Da Capo is based in Cambridge, Massachussetts; it's possible that's a clue. Oh, one other lead, possibly contradictory. One long-time Apple watcher has it on "good authority" that the shadowy figure behind the spoof diary is a former dotcom executive, rather than a career reporter. For what that's worth. Feel free to speculate, in the comments.
