Ross Levinsohn's trying to send some sort of message. On leaving Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., first the exec puts up on
his Myspace page a clip from
A Few Good Men, of a young Tom Cruise finally confronting craggy Jack Nicholson. (Levinsohn managed Myspace after News Corp's acquisition of the online social network.) This morning, in addition to a
stay-tuned post, there's an audio clue:
Midnight Rider, by the Allman Brothers. Striking out on his own? That would tally with the rumor that Levinsohn's off to raise a war-chest, and do a roll-up of independent high-traffic sites. If you hear anything else between the notes, send your interpretations to
tips@valleywag.com. Ah, here's an idea: maybe Levinsohn's going off with Richard Rosenblatt, one of the Myspace founders, to build
Demand Media, which has already raised $200m. Anyone know whether they were on good terms?
